Layered Necklace

A necklace is an article of jewellery that is worn around the neck. Necklaces may have been one of the earliest types of adornment worn by humans. They often serve ceremonial, religious, magical, or funerary purposes and are also used as symbols of wealth and status, given that they are commonly made of precious metals and stones.The main component of a necklace is the band, chain, or cord that wraps around the neck. These are most often rendered in precious metals such as gold, silver, and platinum.

Necklaces often have additional attachments suspended or inset into the necklace itself. These attachments typically include pendants, lockets, amulets, crosses, and precious and semi-precious materials such as diamond, pearls, rubies, emeralds, garnets, and sapphires.

I really liked many designs of layered necklace which i have seen in online shopping sites. So i thought about making layered necklace. The two necklace base pieces where made with yellow coloured silk thread. First take 20 -25 long strand of the silk thread and braid them. For each pieces i have used two braided silk thread strand. Over this i attached the stone lace. Next is about the side brooch in the necklace. I made the brooch with my old earrings, you can create it with beads and kundans. The layers were made with golden beaded chain and stone chain and i arranged them alternately. To form layer the chain pieces should be in different layers.. Now to the one base piece attach the brooch and the attach the chain layers with one of their end to the brooch and next to the another base piece.
