Floral Coffee Cup

Hi guys! After a small break i am back.

In my recent posts i have discussed about polymer clay and air dry clay and how to use it and what all you can create from it. If you haven't gone through my those posts, then check them right now.

While checking more about polymer art, i have get to know that polymer clay art is now trending on creating beautiful mugs and cups. Many polymer clay artist have already made their collections of beautiful mugs. Inspired from their work, i took polymer clay art to create beautiful coffee cup -

As usual i have used white air dry clay and for colour clay i used soft pastels to add colour to them. Here i used pink, magenta, red, white and green coloured clay.

First of all, take small piece from the clay as you need and then divide it and then add colour. Once you add colour to your clay, you need to knead the clay in between your fingers by pressing them for thorough mixing of colour ie, for complete pigmentation. Roll each coloured clay and keep them aside.

Now take the green clay, roll them between your palm and slowly elongate them. Let the clay become a thing long strand. With blade or carving knife cut the strand into small equal pieces. Now you need to roll each pieces into balls. Take one ball and then roll it elongate and make a cone shape and press between fingers. You can get a leaf shape . Repeat the process to make more leaves.

Now take any coloured clay. This remaining coloured clay are for making beautiful flowers.

Let us take red coloured clay. Roll it into a clean sphere and then rub between palms to make long strand. Cut them into equal piece, should be of same size. Roll each piece into balls and then using sphere tool or with fingers press and make them into petals. Press them very hard so they become thin and delicate and also they should have a uneven edges. This gives a originality look for your petals.

Repeat same process with all coloured clay. Once you have made the petals we can move to next process...- making flowers

Take a single petal and roll it up and add petals around it in alternately and slowly. You should not hurry up. For good outcome .. with perfection you have to do this with patience.

Repeat the process. Adding more and more petal can make your flower big. So lesser the petal smaller the flower. Create different flowers with different shape and colour. Now take your cup or else you can use mug. I prefer my coffee cup and i arranged the flowers and leaves. Now using a good quality glue u can stick them over your cup.

Be careful do not hurry up and mess it.. take your time. Before you go to cup, arrange flower and leaves as per you need then paste them over the cup. This step can avoid mess. Since i have used air dry clay, there is no need for baking. As instructed in your polymer clay, you can cure it either by baking or heating. Curing is very important process.

You can apply glaze over the clay flower bunch for the glossy look. As final process i cured my coffee cup with hot air dryer. Keep them aside for complete dry.
